For those in their golden years seeking to stretch their dollars while dining out or shopping, there’s a trend worth noting: discounts for seniors are becoming increasingly common. Many restaurants and retailers have senior discounts that you may not know about, and we’ve compiled them all into one huge list for your benefit! Consider bookmarking this post and keeping it on hand for when you are out and about.

Many of the discounts below require an AARP membership. Not an AARP member? You’re missing out on huge savings! Make sure to score a discounted AARP membership here. AARP is now open to all ages! 

NOTE – Days, discounts, and participation may vary by location, so you might want to call ahead to confirm. Also, a lot of retailers only provide the discount upon request.

• A&W – (55+) No standard policy, but select franchises may offer discounts. Guests over 100 get free Root Beer Floats!
• Auntie Anne’s – AARP members get a 10% discount with every purchase.
• Ben & Jerry’s – (60+) 10% Discount on your order.
• Bennigan’s – (60+) 10% discount
• Big Boy – (60+) Special senior meals between 2 and 5 pm, come with free drink
• Bonefish Grill – AARP members get a 10% discount.
• Boston Market – (65+)  Discount varies by location.
• Bubba Gump Shrimp Co – AARP members get a 10% discount.
• Burger King – (60+) No standard policy, but select franchises may offer discounts
• Captain D’s – (62+) On Wednesdays and Sundays, 7 different meal combos are under $7.79. 10% discounts on other days, upon request. This offer varies by location.

• The Oceanaire Seafood Room – AARP members get a 10% Discount.

• Papa John’s – (55+) AARP members get a 20% Discount.

• Sizzler – Access to the “Honored Guests” menu. Some locations offer an additional discount as well.

• Taco Bell – (65+) 10% Discount off your meal by request. Varies by location, and not all participate
• TCBY – (55+) No standard policy, but select franchises may offer 10% discounts. Check with local store.
• Uno Pizzeria & Grill – (55+) Join their Double Nickel Club and receive 25% off on Wednesdays at participating locations.
• Village Inn – (60+) 10% discount on your purchase.
• Waffle House – (60+) Senior menu with lower meal prices. No standard policy, but select franchises may offer discounts

• Walgreens – (55+) Use code SENIOR20 for 20% off online orders; Save 20% off eligible regular priced items in-store on Seniors Day which happens once a month on the first Tuesday of each month.
• Walmart Plus – 50% off Walmart Plus Memberships with proof of SSI, SNAP, or other government assistance.
• Weis Markets – (60+) 10% discount on Tuesdays.

• AMC Theatres – (60+) Discounted tickets on any show, any day. Just choose senior pricing for your ticket
• Ancestry – AARP members get a 30% off Discount on an All Access or World Explorer Subscription.
• Best Western – (55+) Discounted rates.
• Budget Rent-A-Car – AARP members get up to 35% off Base Rates & Other Benefits

• Cinemark Theatres – (62+) Special discount pricing for seniors on the theatre’s participating day, for any movie, at any showtime.

• Goodwill – (60+) 10% off total purchase every Wednesday
• Hilton Hotels & Resorts – (65+) Save up to 17% on rates when you book 7 days in advance; up to 40% off when you book even further out
• Kohl’s – (60+) 15% coupon available every Wednesday in-store.
• Landmark Theatres – (65+) 20% off the posted Senior’s admission price and  20% off concession purchases on Mondays only.
• Marcus Theatres – (60+) Watch a movie for $7 and discounted concessions before 4 pm on Fridays
• Marriot Bonvoy – (62+) Discounted rates on up to 2 rooms per night
• Michaels – (55+) 10% discount for seniors who have registered Rewards Account

• National Parks America the Beautiful Senior Pass – (62+) Annual Pass for $20 which grants entrance for over 2000 parks (everyone in the car gets in free with them)! Or buy the lifetime pass for $80. At many sites the Senior Pass provides the pass owner a discount for camping, fishing, etc as well. Any annual pass (even old expired ones) can be traded in for a lifetime pass at a discount.
• Payless Car Rentals – 5% Discount on car rentals.
• PepBoys – (55+) Customers get an additional 10% off in-store only, not valid online
• Petsmart – (65+) Senior & military members receive a 10% discount at the Grooming Salon on Tuesdays only.
• Radisson Hotels – AARP members get a 10%-20% Discount.
• Red, White & Blue Thrift Stores – (55+) 50% off several departments in the store, valid on Wednesdays only. Varies by location.
• Regal Cinemas – (60+) Discounted movie tickets at participating locations, daily.

• Salvation Army – Ages 55+ get 15 to 50% off on a specific day of the week (discount and day varies by location)

• SilverSneakers – (65+) SilverSneakers is a fitness and wellness program offered online or in-person at no additional cost to seniors on eligible Medicare plans.

• T-Mobile – (55+) Save with the 55+ Discount Plans.
• United Airlines – (65)+ Discounts for those aged 65 and up on select flights
• UPS Store – AARP members save 5% off domestic and international UPS shipping services, plus 15% off eligible products and services.
