It’s the end of an era for surf and skate fans—Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, Volcom, and several other well-known action sports brands are shutting down their U.S. retail stores. Parent company Boardriders, now owned by Authentic Brands Group, has announced the closures of all 124 of its US stores after filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
So, what does this mean for shoppers? If you have a gift card for Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, or any of their sister brands, don’t wait—you only have until February 16th to use them. Some of the brands like Volcom and Spyder also have rewards program. Make sure to use those reward points by February 16th as well.
While physical stores are going away, the brands themselves aren’t disappearing entirely. You’ll still be able to find Quiksilver and Billabong apparel online and at select retailers. But if you love shopping in-store, now’s your last chance to grab your favorite styles straight from the source.
