Walmart Cash (formerly known as Walmart Rewards) is a digital cash-back program that lets you earn Walmart Cash when you clip and buy eligible offers on Walmart.com or in the Walmart app. These offers are often tied to specific products and show amounts like “Get $X Walmart Cash.” Once you buy the product (online delivered or in-store), the Walmart Cash gets added to your account.

How do I get Walmart Cash? How soon can I use it?

To earn Walmart Cash, first clip offers in the Walmart app or on Walmart.com before buying. You do want to make sure you are signed into your Walmart account before you clip. Then:

  • Online: Purchase eligible items and once they’re delivered or picked up, the Walmart Cash shows in your balance.

  • In-store: Clip offers first, then buy the item; the earnings are typically added after purchase.

You can use Walmart Cash as soon as it’s added to your account, and you can expect it to pop up within minutes to a few hours of your completed order.

How come I don’t see the discount at checkout?

Walmart Cash isn’t an immediate discount. Instead it’s a cash back you earn after you buy eligible items. That’s why you won’t see the savings reduce your current total at checkout; the Walmart Cash is added to your balance after purchase and must be applied to a future purchase

How can I check my Walmart Cash balance?

You can check your Walmart Cash balance:

  • In the Walmart app under your Wallet or “Walmart Cash” section

  • On Walmart.com in your account dashboard

Does Walmart Cash expire?

No! However, there are spending caps for Walmart Cash. You can spend a maximum of $500 per day, $1,000 per week, and $2,000 per month. Keep that in mind if you are letting them build up.

What can I redeem Walmart Cash for? What is excluded from Walmart Cash redemption?

You can use Walmart Cash to pay for most Walmart purchases, both online and in stores. You can even cash out your rewards in-store if you have a minimum of $25 Walmart Cash.

You cannot use your Walmart Cash on the following, however:

  • Prescription drugs

  • Gift cards

  • Alcohol & tobacco

  • Financial services (like money orders)

  • Lottery tickets

To use your Walmart Cash:

  • Online/App: At checkout, look for the option to “Apply Walmart Cash balance” in your payment or Wallet section.

  • In-store: Open the Walmart app at checkout, tap Use Walmart Cash, and your balance can be applied toward the purchase.
    If your balance doesn’t cover the full total, you pay the remainder with another payment method.

How much available Walmart Cash do I need before I can redeem it?

You can redeem any amount of Walmart Cash toward purchases once it’s in your balance — it acts like a gift card on your account. However, if you want to cash out for actual cash, Walmart often requires a minimum $25 balance to convert to cash at a Walmart MoneyCenter or Customer Service Desk.

Can I use Walmart Cash with Ibotta offers?

You cannot earn cash back on the same item twice on the same receipt. If you clip the same offer in Walmart Cash and Ibotta for the same product, the cash-back value will typically go into your Walmart Cash balance first instead of your Ibotta account unless you only add the offer in Ibotta.
