Big news for home goods fans: Bed Bath & Beyond is officially returning to the brick-and-mortar scene—this time by acquiring The Container Store! The deal, valued at $150 million, will bring The Container Store’s 100+ locations under the Bed Bath & Beyond umbrella, creating a new “Everything Home” experience that combines storage solutions with home essentials.
Bed Bath & Beyond, now officially called Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., plans to integrate Container Store brands like Elfa and Closet Works into its ecosystem, offering customers a one-stop shop for home organization and décor. The acquisition is expected to close this July.
CEO Marcus Lemonis called the move “a critical step for our company” in a letter to shareholders, highlighting The Container Store’s strong brand, prime retail footprint, and dedicated team. While Bed Bath & Beyond had previously passed on investing in The Container Store before its 2024 bankruptcy, the company sees now as the perfect time to bring the two brands together.
This isn’t Bed Bath & Beyond’s first comeback. After closing all of its stores during its 2023 bankruptcy, the company—then operating as Beyond Inc.—began slowly reintroducing stores through partnerships and acquisitions. Nashville’s first Bed Bath & Beyond Home opened in 2025, followed by plans to convert additional locations from the Kirkland’s retail chain.
Now, with The Container Store’s stores being rebranded to reflect both names, shoppers can expect an expanded selection of home organization and lifestyle products across more than 100 locations nationwide. For longtime fans, it’s a sign that Bed Bath & Beyond is not just back—it’s bigger, bolder, and ready to redefine the in-store shopping experience.
