Role Responsibilities & Expectations

In this role, you will help get Forbes in front of the right audience by identifying timely stories, writing engaging posts and making editorial decisions about how content is presented across different platforms. Responsibilities and expectations include: 

• Writing, editing  and publishing on all Forbes social media platforms
• Responding quickly to breaking news while maintaining accuracy
• Collaborating with design teams to create solid social media graphics 
• Monitoring trends and identifying stories with strong social media potential 

Required Skills & Experience

Applicants should have strong editorial judgement, excellent writing skills and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced virtual work environment. Required skill and experience includes: 

• 2 to 3 years of digital newsroom, social media editing, audience development or a related editorial role 
• Strong news judgement and excellent writing skills
• Familiarity with all social media platforms 
• Experience working with Canva, Figma or similar design tools 
• Video editing experience is a plus 
• Ability to work independently

Compensation 

The pay for this position is $24 – $35/hr. The actual starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. You must reside in CA, CO, CT, DC, GA, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, SC, TN, TX, or WA to be considered for the position.
