BetterHelp is hiring for a Billing & Follow-Up Specialist position. This role is fully remote and may be a good fit for applicants with healthcare billing, insurance claims and revenue cycle experience.
BetterHelp operates on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. However, you must be willing to travel to the San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person.
Role Responsibilities & Expectations
In this role, you will help manage insurance claims, resolve billing issues and ensure payments are processed accurately and on time. Responsibilities and expectation include:
- Reviewing and prioritizing insurance claims that need corrections or follow-up
- Researching claim details and resolving issues to get claims processed
- Contacting insurance companies about delayed claims and payments
- Identify trends in payer behavior and sharing them for leadership review
- Documenting follow-up activities and maintaining clear records
Required Skills & Experience
Applicants should have at least 4 years of experience within healthcare, medical billing or insurance claims. Additional qualifications include:
- Familiarity with cash posting, payment reconciliation and claim denials
- Understanding insurance claim submissions and common processing delays.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a newly formed department
- Experience or exposure to mental health and/or telehealth services.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this full-time position is $ $33.00/hr –$38.46/hr and includes performance-based bonuses and extensive benefits including:
