If you recently purchased Cat & Jack children’s sandals from Target, you’ll want to check your child’s shoes. Target has issued a recall for approximately 211,000 pairs after reports that decorative plastic pearls can detach, creating a potential choking hazard for young children.
The recall affects Cat & Jack kids’ sandals featuring two raffia straps with gold buckles, decorative plastic pearls, and the Cat & Jack logo printed on the sole. The sandals were sold in children’s sizes 5T through 12T.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target received 23 reports of the plastic pearls falling off the sandals. While no injuries have been announced, the loose pieces could pose a serious choking risk.
The recalled sandals were sold at Target stores nationwide and on Target.com between January and May 2026 for approximately $20.
What You Should Do
If you have these sandals, stop using them immediately and keep them away from children.
Target is offering a full refund. You can:
Return the sandals to any Target store.
Request a prepaid shipping label from Target to mail them back.
If your child owns a pair, it’s a good idea to check them as soon as possible and take advantage of the recall.
