For years, Amazon Prime Video has distinguished itself by providing a seamless, ad-free viewing experience, making it a great choice for viewers especially since it comes with all the other Prime benefits. That’s all about to change on January 29th when Prime Video will start including ads.
You’ll have two options at that point- deal with the ads or pay $2.99 extra per month to skip them.
The ads will only be aired on Prime Video content, not paid rentals, and they aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers. The revenue brought in from ads or the extra monthly fee is earmarked for content production.
