This Class Action Settlement Affects:
Anyone who was/is a student and logged into a Naviance Platform at least once between August 18, 2021 and January 23, 2026. This also includes minors who may have a parent or legal guardian submit a claim on their behalf.
What’s This Class Action Settlement About?
The lawsuit claims Powerschool, Hobsons, Heap and the Board of Education of the City of Chicago allowed students confidential and sensitive communications on the Naviance Platform to be intercepted and shared through third party analytics and advertising technologies without consent.
Who Qualifies for the Settlement?
Anyone who was/is a student in the U.S. who logged into Naviance at least once between August 18, 2021 and January 23, 2026.
If the class member is under the age of 18, the claim must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.
How Much Money Can You Get?
The settlement reached $17,250,000 and eligible class members will receive a pro rata cash payment after costs and fees.
Is Proof Required?
No proof required, you must submit a claim form in order to receive a payment. Minors must have the claim submitted by a parent or guardian.
