This Class Action Settlement Affects:
Any current or former owners and lessees of 2016-2017 Kia Optima and all 2017 Kia Sportage vehicles that were registered in the United States.
The settlement covers eligible vehicles identified by the VIN.
What’s This Class Action Settlement About?
The lawsuit claims that certain Kia vehicles have a defect that can cause automatic window regulators to separate or break, potentially leaving the power window system inoperative.
Who Qualifies for the Settlement?
The settlement generally covers all U.S. and District of Columbia residents who currently own or lease, or previously owned or leased an eligible 2016-2017 Kia Optima or 2017 Kia Sportage.
Certain exclusion apply, including salvage vehicles, fleet vehicles, certain insurers and warranty providers.
How Much Money Can You Get?
Eligible class members may receive up to a $400 reimbursement for qualifying out-of-pocket window regulator costs, subject to mileage-based limits. The reimbursement can cover eligible repairs worth a maximum of four qualifying repairs per VIN.
Is Proof Required?
A completed and valid claim form must be submitted with required documentation and proof of pay for repair to receive compensation.
