Anyone in the U.S. who currently owns or purchased a Generac PWRcell Solar System before January 9, 2026.
What’s This Class Action Settlement About?
The lawsuit claims Generac Power Systems Inc and Generac Holdings Inc sold devices involving certain components called SnapRS devices. These devices carry defective performance issues including overheating, melting and system shutdowns.
Who Qualifies for the Settlement?
Anyone is who a current owner and/or primary user of a Generac PWRcell System purchased in the U.S. before January 9, 2026.
Current Owners are any person or entity that holds contractual ownership rights to a PWRcell System. Primary User means a homeowner or other occupant of the property where a PWRcell System is installed who is financially responsible for the electric service on the premises.
How Much Money Can You Get?
Generac Power Systems Inc and Generac Holdings Inc settled for $15 million. Eligible class members who submit a valid claim may receive a share of the settlement fund.
Additional payouts may be available for those who can provide evidence of out-of-pocket expenses related to SnapRS problems or loss of energy generation caused by SnapRS lasting two or more months.
Is Proof Required?
Eligible class members will only need to establish that they are the owner or primary user of an eligible Generac PWRcell System to receive the basic settlement benefit. Additional payouts may be available.

- Claim Deadline: August 24, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
- Exclusion Deadline: July 20, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Passed)
- Final Approval Hearing: October 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CDT
