Dollar General is putting a bigger focus on $1 bargains, giving shoppers even more ways to stretch their budgets.
The retailer currently carries around 2,000 products priced at just $1 and plans to increase that selection by approximately 40% during the second half of 2026. Even more $1 products are expected to arrive in 2027.
The expansion comes after Dollar General saw strong demand for its bargain-priced merchandise. Its Value Valley, a collection of roughly 600 $1 items, saw sales jump significantly faster than the retailer’s overall same-store sales during the second quarter.
Dollar General has also been adding more affordable food options, including freezers stocked with $1 foods at select stores. The idea is simple: offer everyday essentials at attention-grabbing prices that keep budget-conscious shoppers coming back.
With the holiday shopping season approaching, shoppers can expect to see a lot more $1 finds hitting Dollar General shelves soon!
