Social Media Giveaways

Social Media Giveaways are actually one of my favorite types of giveaways for a couple of reasons – one of those is that they are relatively easy to win! These types of giveaways are found on social media platforms and typically the method of entry is a ‘like’ or a ‘comment’ and they do not usually require filling out any sort of entry form.

In addition, these giveaways usually only last a day or perhaps a few days – and a shorter period of entry means fewer people will enter. You can also get an idea on the number of entries by counting the likes or comments thus giving you an idea of what the odds of winning are like!

Why? Because they’re so easy to enter and win!

So many giveaways require you to give some of your personal information to enter. Okay, it’s usually not a lot of personal information—maybe just a name and email address. But social media giveaways are great because you don’t have to give any of that over! And they’re so easy!

For most social media giveaways, you must like the post, comment, and follow the host account. It’s that easy! Sometimes, you can even win an extra entry by sharing the post on your story or sending it to a friend.

And remember what I said about them being more accessible to win? It’s true! Since most social media giveaways only run for a few days, fewer people enter than some of these massive corporate cash giveaways. So when you enter a social media giveaway, enter with the understanding that you have a better chance of winning stuff than you would otherwise!

But you may be wondering why people do these giveaways. It’s all about visibility! Sometimes, companies will giveaways to gain more followers. And why do they want you to follow them? Because if you see them more on your social media feed, they believe you’re more likely to buy one of their products later.

Are social media giveaways usually free?

Yes! Social media giveaways should always be free! If you’ve seen a social media giveaway that requires paid entry, it’s a scam! Do not enter!! Any social media giveaway that requires paid entry is someone fishing for your credit card information. Don’t fall for it.

How do I win a social media giveaway?

In most cases, a social media giveaway’s winner is selected randomly. You often enter a social media giveaway by following the giveaway holder, liking the post, and tagging a friend. Some contests will give you an extra entry by sharing the post on your feed or story. But that’s all there is to it!

How do I increase my odds of winning a social media giveaway?

Look for giveaways for smaller companies and pages, including local shops with less of a pool of people who would enter versus a nationwide giveaway! With fewer people entering a giveaway, your odds of winning will always be higher!
