Dollar General Penny List
Find the newest Dollar General penny items, surprise pennies, markdowns, shopping tips and weekly archives in one place.
What Is the Dollar General Penny List?
Dollar General penny items are discontinued products that have been reduced to $0.01 in the store system. They are generally supposed to be removed from shelves, but shoppers may occasionally find them mixed into regular aisles, seasonal sections or clearance areas.
We update this page whenever a new weekly list is released. You can also open the previous four weekly lists below. This is helpful when you have not shopped in a few weeks or want to check whether older penny items may still be hiding in your store.
Important: Do not ask store employees to locate penny items. These products are not supposed to remain on the shelves, so penny shopping is a self-guided treasure hunt.

Dollar General Penny Shopping FAQs
When does the new Dollar General Penny List start?
New weekly penny lists generally begin on Tuesday. Items usually will not ring up at the new penny price before the effective date.
Why should I check older penny lists?
Penny items can remain hidden in stores long after their original list date. Reviewing recent weekly lists can help you recognize older products that may still be mixed into regular aisles or seasonal sections.
Should I ask a Dollar General employee where penny items are?
No. Penny items are supposed to be removed from the shelves, and employees generally cannot help shoppers locate them. Penny shopping is self-guided.
How do I check whether an item is one penny?
Select the correct store in the Dollar General app and use the price scanner. You can also confirm the final price at checkout, but app prices and inventory can vary by store.
Are penny items available at every Dollar General store?
No. Inventory varies significantly by location, and many stores will have already removed the listed products. A penny list identifies qualifying items, not guaranteed inventory.
Can I use coupons on penny items?
Coupon terms, register behavior and store policies can vary. Review the coupon requirements carefully and do not assume a coupon will apply to a penny-priced product.
Can I share screenshots of the Penny List?
Please share the direct page link instead of screenshots. The page can be corrected or updated when new information becomes available, while screenshots may quickly become outdated.
