Amazon $309.5 Million Return Policy Settlement – Submit a Claim by December 1

This Class Action Settlement Affects:

Amazon customers who initiated a return or requested a refund for a physical product purchased through Amazon.com and received in the U.S. between September 5, 2017 and August 13, 2026 and experienced a qualifying refund or return issue. 

What’s This Class Action Settlement About?

The lawsuit claims that certain Amazon return and refund practices violated Washington consumer protection and other laws. This involves customers who did not received a refund, received an untimely or incorrect refund or received a refund but were later incorrectly charged again for the return product.

Who Qualifies for the Settlement?

Anyone who initiated a return to Amazon or requested a refund for a physical product purchased through Amazon.com between September 5, 2017 and August 13, 2026 and: 

• You did not receive a refund you were entitled to or received an untimely or incorrect refund 
• You received a refund but were later incorrectly charged for the returned product 

How Much Money Can You Get?

This settlement has two subclasses. Settlement Subclass A members will automatically reciveve a payment, while Settlement Subclass B members must submit an eligible claim to recive a payment.

Amazon agreed to a $309.5 million common fund, with 92.7% of the net fund allocated to Settlement Subclass A and the remainder to Settlement Subclass B. Payments may vary depending on the number of eligible class members and other court-approved deductions and attorney fees.

Is Proof Required?

Proof will depend on your settlement subclass. Settlement Subclass A members do not need to submit a claim form because payments are automatic. Settlement Subclass B members must submit an eligible claim form and supporting documentation may be required with the claim.

• Claim Deadline: December 1, 2026
• Exclusion Deadline: December 1, 2026
• Final Approval Hearing: March 16, 2027 at 10:00 a.m. PT
