This Class Action Settlement Affects:
Anyone who paid a surcharge or access fee when withdrawing cash from an independent, non-bank-owned ATM using an ATM or PIN-debit card between October 24, 2007 and August 14, 2026 and were not full y reimbursed by their bank.
What’s This Class Action Settlement About?
The lawsuit claims Visa and Mastercard had network rules that prevented independent ATM operators from offering lower surcharges for transactions that could be processed over competing networks. This caused eligible class members t pay higher ATM access fess than they otherwise would have.
Who Qualifies for the Settlement?
Anyone who paid a surcharge or access fee when making a domestic cash withdrawal at an independent, non-bank-owned ATM between October 24, 2007 and August 14, 2026 and were not fully reimbursed by their bank.
How Much Money Can You Get?
Visa and Mastercard agreed to a total $167.5 million settlement, with Visa contributing 88.77 million and Mastercard contributing $78.72 million. All valid claims will receive a pro rata share of the remaining settlement funds. The specific number amount will depend on the. number of valid claims submitted after approved fees and expenses.
Is Proof Required?
There is no proof required. However the Claims Administrator may request bank statements or other supporting documents later.
